What are the different grade divisions offered by Clackamas Nelson JBO?
Kindergarten & 1st grade – T-ball
2nd grade – Transitional
3rd & 4th grade – Minor
5th & 6th grade – Junior
7th & 8th grade - Senior

What are the 2023 registration fees?
T-ball: $85
Transitional: $125
Minor: $240
Junior: $265
Senior $290
There is a $25 discount for a second child, $50 discount for a third child. 
Early bird registration is December 1st - December 31. A $10 discount will be applied at check out if you register before December 31.

Are there different skill levels within each grade division?
National - Developing skills
American - Intermediate/Advanced skills
Federal - The Most Advanced skills (Federal level is available to the highest grade of each division (in most cases) and may require a call back after the first assessment) 

How are teams assigned?
All players, grade 2nd through 8th, must participate in the assessment process, which is managed by high school coaches and former CJBO coaches. (1st graders who wish to play up in transitional can take part in the assessment as well). This will help determine the skill level for each player.   Federal teams are chosen by the High School Coaching Staff, while the American and National teams are chosen through a draft process.  
At no time are the high school staff given a list of player names. Each participant will be assigned a number at assessments. 

What is the frequency of practices and games?
T-ball- Practices will be held twice a week (Mon-Fri) for two weeks prior to the start of games. Once games begin, they will play twice per week at Spring Mountain Elementary. All games will be held weekdays at 6pm and will last no longer than 75 minutes. 
Transitional - Practices will be held twice a week (Mon-Fri) for two weeks prior to the start of games. Once games begin, they will play twice per week at Happy Valley Middle School. All games will be held weekdays at 6pm. 
Minor/Junior/Senior - Practices will be held two weekdays and one Saturday time slot at local Happy Valley fields. Once games begin, coaches may elect to practice on weeknights or Saturdays as field availability allows. Games will be 2-3 times per week. Home games will be held at local Happy Valley fields. Away game locations will be determined once Clackamas County JBO creates the divisions. Locations can include Tualatin, Silverton, Oregon City, Canby, Milwaukie, Corbett etc. 

Are there opportunities to play in tournaments?
Minor, Junior and Senior level may play in (up to) 2-3 weekend tournaments determined by the coach.   

Are there playoffs at the end of the season?
Each team at the Minor, Junior and Senior level has the opportunity to qualify for the county tournament at the end of regular season play. The tournament hosts will be determined by the county once the season begins. Minor and Junior County tournament is currently scheduled (TBA). Senior County Tournament is currently scheduled for (TBA) Please note, the county and/or state tournament will be a Friday-Sunday with games starting as early as 9am. Teams who win at the county level may also quality to play at the state level. Minor and Junior State is scheduled for (TBA). Senior State is scheduled for (TBA). 

What equipment will my child need?
Each player will need a glove, helmet, bat and cleats. T-ball and transitional players will be provided with a jersey and hat but will need to purchase baseball pants (check with coach on color).
Minor, Junior and Senior players will be provided a practice jersey and league issued hat. Pant and sock color will be decided by coaches and communicated prior to the start of the season. Parents will be responsible for purchasing these items for their child. Game jerseys will also be an additional fee. 

How do I know which High School my child will attend?

Cannady, Happy Valley, Scouters Mountain, Verne Duncan
The following elementary schools feed into Rock Creek Middle School and Clackamas High School:
Mt Scott, Oregon Trail, Spring Mountain, Sunnysid

Is payment assistance available?
YES! We offer scholarships to families in need. Please email your respective league if you need assistance. 

Can I receive a refund if my child decides not to play?

Yes, there are refunds of up to 100% less $ 30.00, before teams are selected.  After that, there are NO REFUNDS.
